About

Welcome! Read below to learn how my experiences over seventeen years as a professional have shaped my practice to prioritize client-centered and solution-focused care.

In 1994, my passion for helping youth was ignited when I became a foster parent. Today I continue to support young people in my role as a public elementary school counselor and have broadened my reach by working with individuals in all stages of life as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe that the journey of life, from grade school to adulthood, can be challenging for many, but with hope and determination, individuals can achieve success.

In 1998, I obtained my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and began my career as an educator. Over the years, I worked with students in both general education and Juvenile Detention Centers, where I witnessed their desire for independence and acceptance. To further develop my therapeutic skills, I pursued a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist and worked in community health. At Project Eden, a youth outpatient facility, I provided counseling and weekly group sessions for LGBTQ youth. Additionally, I ran a ranch for at-risk youth, where I witnessed the transformative power of the bond between humans and animals.

While pursuing my Marriage and Family Therapy program, I recognized the significance of incorporating animals into my practice. I partnered with the Trails To Success team to offer Equine-assisted therapy to families and youth. Our approach involved teamwork, adventure, and interaction with emotional support animals, which resulted in a secure and encouraging learning atmosphere with a sense of belonging and acceptance. It was truly inspiring to observe clients' progress and success in accomplishing their objectives. Through talk therapy and emotional support animals, clients can explore alternative therapeutic experiences that encourage self-direction, mindfulness, and healing.
